The JDSU (now Viavi Solutions) MTS-8000, also known as the T-BERD 8000 in North America, is a highly scalable, modular test platform designed for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of optical networks. It serves as a mainframe that accepts a wide variety of field-interchangeable modules, supporting applications ranging from standard OTDR and fiber characterization (CD, PMD) to Optical Spectrum Analysis (OSA) and high-speed transport testing (up to 40G/100G).
