Keysight Technologies (Agilent HP) Test Fixtures

7 models with full specifications in Test Fixtures.

This guide covers Keysight Technologies (formerly Agilent and HP) precision test fixtures designed for LCR meters and impedance analyzers. These fixtures establish reliable electrical connections to devices under test (DUTs) while minimizing residual impedance and stray capacitance. Engineering teams and technical buyers can use this overview to select the correct fixture interface based on component type—such as leaded, surface-mount (SMD), or solid dielectric materials—as well as operating frequency, temperature range, and instrument compatibility.

Leaded Component Fixtures

Keysight offers dedicated test fixtures for evaluating axial and radial leaded components. These fixtures connect directly to the unknown terminals of compatible LCR meters or impedance analyzers without cables, reducing residual inductance and resistance.

  • Keysight 16047A: Designed for evaluations up to 13 MHz, this fixture uses a 4-terminal Kelvin connection. It supports lead diameters ranging from 0.3 mm to 2.0 mm and axial lead pitches from 5 mm to 20 mm. Typical residuals include a residual resistance of 15 mΩ or less and a stray capacitance of 12 pF or less.
  • Keysight 16047C: For higher frequency applications, the 16047C extends capability up to 40 MHz. It features a 4-Terminal Pair configuration with an integrated guard terminal (via the outer BNC conductor shielding). It accommodates lead diameters from 0.1 mm to 2.0 mm and reduces stray capacitance to 1.5 pF or less.

Surface-Mount Device (SMD) Fixtures

SMD fixtures must adapt to varied component geometries while maintaining repeatable contact. Keysight's SMD portfolio spans low-frequency tweezer types to high-frequency RF parallel-electrode fixtures.

  • Keysight 16334A: A tweezer-type fixture with gold-plated contact tips designed for evaluations up to 15 MHz. It uses a 4-terminal pair BNC interface and supports SMD component widths up to 10 mm, with a minimum imperial case size of 0603. It includes open and short compensation support.
  • Keysight 16034E: Operating from DC to 40 MHz, this fixture features a spring-loaded sliding contact mechanism. It handles imperial case sizes from 0603 to 3131 (metric 1608 to 8080) with a residual resistance below 20 mΩ.
  • Keysight 16194A: Designed for environmental chamber testing, this fixture operates across a wide temperature range of -55 °C to +200 °C and frequencies up to 500 MHz. It connects via an APC-7 interface and supports imperial SMD sizes from 0603 to 2220.
  • Keysight 16196A: This coaxial parallel-electrode RF fixture is optimized for precise impedance measurements up to 3 GHz. It is dedicated to 1608 metric (0603 EIA) case sizes and utilizes a pressure cap mechanism to ensure highly repeatable electrode contact.

Dielectric Material Fixtures

For material characterization rather than discrete component testing, Keysight provides specialized clamping fixtures to interface with impedance and material analyzers.

  • Keysight 16453A: Engineered for high-frequency permittivity and loss tangent measurements of solid sheets or films. Operating from 1 MHz to 1 GHz, it employs the parallel plate method. It features an APC-7 instrument connector, supports samples with a minimum diameter of 15 mm and a thickness range of 0.3 mm to 3 mm, and operates within a temperature range of -30 °C to +85 °C.
